Various Times | Various Days

Taking the good news of Jesus to people who have never heard the message is at the core of what “missions” is all about. This happens in various ways. In some cases missions may be traveling locally or out of state to another church that needs help reaching people in its community, while in other cases it might mean traveling oversees to countries where people need help establishing churches and reaching people with the good news in their own context. Anyone who has a desire to see others come to know Jesus is a candidate for missions work. We invite everyone to join in this endeavor.

Currently LFBC has mission partnerships with four church planting missionaries: (2) in Chicago, Illinois, (1) in East St. Louis, Illinois, (1) in New Orleans, Louisiana, and (1) in London, England.

"Food 4 the Soul" opened because we recognized a serious practical need in our community. Though it may be hard to believe, there are families who are forced to make the choice every month between purchasing groceries or paying rent, or a utility bill. Our hope is to show the love of Jesus by assisting families with food so they can use what financial resources they do have to take care of other household living expenses.

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:14-17.
